*Women’s Day 2024: UBa Women Pray for Peace, Engage in Capacity Building*
The University of Bamenda Women have taken part in a one-day conference that seeks to better prepare them mentally ahead of the Women’s Day on March 8th. The one-day conference that took place March 5th on Campus was organized under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor of The University of Bamenda, Professor Theresia Nkuo-Akenji. The one day conference featured, paper presentations/panel discussions, fashion parade, drama, poetry, and dance, all weaved around this year’s International Women’s day theme: Invest in women: Accelerate Progress.
The one-day conference follows a successful launch of commemorative activities within the university on the 1st March. Speaking at the launch, the coordinator of women’s day activities, Professor Atanga Mary who represented the Vice Chancellor saluted the steadfastness of all UBa women who have remained dedicated to their duty despite challenges at home and at work. She outlined strategies that can transcribe the theme into reality.

The launch started with an ecumenical service where the university chaplains and the Imam all prayed for peace in the university and for a weeklong celebration within and without the university till the 8th of March that a march past at the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grandstand shall crown all commemorative activities.
