Staff and students of The University of Bamenda have been reminded to always make use of the various opportunities offered by The Commonwealth of Nations like exchange programmes and scholarships by always checking and registering for them in time. The information was explained by the Deputy Vice Chancellor In Charge Of Teaching, professionalization and the development of Information and communication Technologies (DVC TIC), Professor Suh Cheo Emmanuel.

According to Professor Suh Cheo Emmanuel, the Commonwealth Day gives an opportunity for the university community to draw attention especially of the student community to the diversity of Cameroon foreign policy on the global stage and also how Cameroon asserts itself internationally especially through the cultural and educational programmes that the common wealth offers.
The DVCs and the members of the organising committeeSpeaking on the theme of this year’s commemoration of the common wealth day: Peace and Sustainable Commonwealth, The Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research, Cooperation and relation with the Business world(DVC RCB), Professor Ernest Letia Molua, said the theme of the event evokes economic sustainability, political sustainability and ecological sustainability adding that Cameroon being a member, it is incumbent on her to strive diligently to improving in these domains to assert herself in the international community. He outline that there are cooperation, educational opportunities, internships and jobs that are always available in the commonwealth website and called on all the university staff and students to always visit and register in other to benefit from these opportunities.The Central Library publications standThe occasion in the University of Bamenda April 12 saw a sensitization walk round the campus with flags of the commonwealth member countries, sketches, expositions, signing and recitation poems by students to immortalize the event.
