UBa welcomes students from across Africa and beyond — an English-speaking, Anglo-Saxon university in bilingual Cameroon.
International applicants follow the same admission routes as Cameroonian students: online application through the UBa Student portal, and a competitive entrance examination where the programme requires one. The guidance below covers what is specific to applying from abroad.
Foreign certificates are considered on the basis of their equivalence with their Cameroonian counterparts — the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels for undergraduate entry, and a recognised first degree for postgraduate study. Have certified copies of your transcripts and certificates ready.
Teaching at UBa is in English, in the Anglo-Saxon tradition. Cameroon is a bilingual country, so you will also encounter French on and around campus — a working knowledge of English is what your studies require.
Tuition for each programme is shown on its programme page. Grants, projects and scholarship opportunities are announced on this website as they open.
Pick your programme from the schools and faculties and apply through the UBa Student portal when admissions open — the admissions overview explains the routes and deadlines.
Once your name appears on the admission list, your letter of admission is the key document for the steps that follow.
Apply for a study visa at the Cameroonian embassy or consulate serving your country, presenting your admission letter. Start early — visa processing times vary from country to country.
Complete your registration on the Bambili campus, in the North West Region — about an hour from Bamenda city. Contact the admissions team ahead of travel for guidance on accommodation and arrival.
From certificate equivalence to arrival in Bambili, the admissions team can guide you through each step. Reach out before you apply if anything is unclear.
