VISION: This Department equips students with the dynamics of maritime transport and how this sector (together with its ancillary professions) contributes to the growth and expansion of national economy. The Department provides students with the necessary intellectual accent, practical skills and the technical knowhow required to perform effectively and function within the administrative, operational and managerial spheres of the maritime industry. MISSION: To equip students with a deeper and comprehensive understanding of the practices in maritime transport and how it relates to other modes of transport, To expose students to the operational issues associated with the transportation of goods by sea, To produce students who can perform administrative/managerial functions within the maritime transport Industry, To provide students with practical hands -on experience in activities of maritime transport, To provide students with the capability of meeting the changing challenges that shape and influence maritime transport. The Degree offered at the undergraduate level is a Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Transport and Logistics
