The University Of Bamenda Development Fund building has been opened for use by the university community. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda inaugurated the building October 6th 2023.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Professor Theresia Nkuo-Akenji said the building containing six classrooms, two amphitheatres with a sitting capacity of 1200, 12 offices, a boardroom and good toilet facilities shall go a long way in solving the infrastructural challenges of the entire university.
The Vice Chancellor described the completion of the building as a journey of all stakeholders within and without the university who all chipped in financially in realization the project. She regretted the fact that the project had delayed in completion due to the socio political climate of the region. She used the occasion to appreciate the members of the managing board, the Northwest elites home and abroad.
While announcing that the building shall be open for use by the entire university and schools, the Vice Chancellor said she was proud with the active role played by the University of Bamenda.
“I’m proud of the fact that members of this community, students, support staff and teachers all contributed to the project and no contribution was small. This is our success story. Thank you for your confidence in me who just barely 18months in office could initiate a project and give birth to it” the vice chancellor said.
The University Of Bamenda Development Fund, UBaDeF was launched July 2016 by the current vice chancellor rafter her installation barely after 18months in office.
