Highlights of 2020 Women's Day Celebration in UBa


 

The Vice Chancellor invited the UBa Community and all the friends of UBa to join the UBa Women to pray for our families, our University and our Nation as another way of bridging the gap between peoples, and fighting against inequalities.

 

DAY 2

Conference – THEME: PROMOTING GENDER AND PROTECTING WOMEN’S RIGHTS:                                  

   TAKING STOCK OF ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN AND SETTING A NEW COURSE.

The UBa Women also took part in a one-day symposium, during which the brilliant facilitators enlightened participants on the importance of Digital Marketing, and the need for more women to get into STEM through the projection of role models, mentoring of females right from the secondary school, demystifying stereotypes etc, in order to bridge the alarming gender gaps in these and other domains.

5. Woman of Integrity by Dr. Bonkah Vivian

 

Day 3: Outreach to Juveniles and Female Inmates of the Bamenda Central Prison

Many items to meet some of the daily needs of the 26 Female inmates, 28 Juveniles and 2 Babies…

But also some spiritual and psychological upliftment from the talks delivered by the UBa Women.

It was with great joy that the inmates exhibited their talents: music, journalism… These are important coping mechanisms while in confinement, but also a wonderful way of preparing for eventual reentry into the society. Before leaving, the UBa Women shared a delicious meal with the Inmates.

On March 8, the UBa women braved the security challenges to answer present at Commercial Avenue grand Stand to take part in the March Past.
