All-Varsity Football Champions Begin Journey to Next Victory

The male football squads of The University of Bamenda, current trophy holders of the university games in Cameroon have begun their trip to next victory.

Ahead of the U-games which come up in about three months, the boys of Coaches Anumewa Frankline and Nongoh Thomas have in a warm-up game tested their physical fitness as intensive training begins.

Pitting the UBa Veteran Club last Saturday February 1st, the boys held on a virgin-all draw before the game culminated in penalty shootout.

Current champions shall be moving to Ngoundere in May where the next 10-day derby is billed for. Aware of new challenges, the boys are poised to step up their game so as to retain the prestigious position of champions, hoping for a better scoreboard.

In 2019, the UBa boys beat the University Institute of the Gulf of Guinea, IUG to emerge cup holders after a goalless match in Dschang which saw them win by penalties.

Bringing back the trophy home is therefore a huge challenge they must match up to as all eyes of envy are on them.
